About Our House

The Sigma Kappa house at the University of Michigan, also nicknamed the House on the Hill or the Sigma Kastle, is a beautiful brick house with white pillars and a large front lawn, perfect for laying out and tanning in the warm weather or sledding down in the chilly winter months. Our house has many large and spacious living areas—the kitchen is a commonplace for meals, hanging out with our sisters and studying in the evenings; the living room, with all of the cozy couches and large windows, is a house-favorite for curling up on the weekends and watching the snow fall out on the hill in front during the winter. We also have a cozy family room, where many of our sisters gather to watch the University of Michigan football team play in the away games or even for a Monday night Bachelor showing. The day our sisters move into our house is the day they truly feel at home here on Michigan’s large and busy campus. 1811 Washtenaw Avenue is a place where lifelong friends are made.
